Granddaddy

As some of you have noticed I have been MIA from my blog. Last week I lost my grandpa. I've never lost anyone close to me so it has been really hard. A little break is what I needed. I will be back full time soon.

My grandpa was such a wonderful person. So selfless and giving and full of love to everyone around him. He is one of the hardest working people I have ever known and his passion for work was incredible. He is the one who taught me how to fish, how to hammer my first nail, and how to probably de-head a shrimp while shrimping. He lived such a fulfilling life. Him and my grandma just celebrated their 69th anniversary, with 8 children, 28 grandchildren, and 44 great-grandchildren. The Spencer family is his legacy and I will forever be grateful for his example while he was here on this Earth. I don't know how I would have gotten through this without the comfort from my Heavenly Father knowing that I will see him one day again. I know he is in a better place where he won't be in anymore pain and where he can look down and see the great work he has left behind. I love you so much grandpa. Missing you always.

  3. Losing someone so close to you is the hardest thing to deal with, although it seems like you have a great, big family to help you get through these times! This post was such a thoughtful and loving way to reflect on your grandfather.
