5 Things to do this Holiday Season
1) Watch
“Elf” at least twice, if not more.
Elf, HANDS DOWN,
one of my all-time favorite Holiday movies. If you haven’t seen it, go run and
buy it now. You don’t even need to watch it before you buy it. Just take my
word that it’s seriously the best..movie..ever. Even though I've seen it 3,000
times (and this is an exact number) it never gets old. It never fails to put me
in the Christmas mood. Without Elf, my
Christmas just wouldn't be the same.
2) Frolicking
with Starbucks in hand
Now, I know this
sounds cheesy, but don’t act like you don’t want to do it! And by frolic I
don’t mean for you to obnoxiously skip around the mall while holding hands with
your BFF. However, if that floats your boat, DO IT! I mean, frolicking in the
sense of going Christmas shopping, hanging out with close friends and family,
and just simply taking in what the chilly outdoors has to offer. And we can’t
forget about Starbucks! Starbucks offers the best Holiday flavored drinks ever.
Remember, Starbucks is never a bad decision.
3) Lend
a Helping Hand
It’s always to
important to remember exactly what the Holiday season is about. It’s about
giving to others in need. There are people who don’t have a roof over there
head, hot food to eat, or presents to open on Christmas day. Whether it be
“adopting” a child (usually consists of picking a name off a tree and getting
most of what the child has listed he/she wants for Christmas), donating clothes
or food to shelters, or helping serve a hearty Christmas meal to the homeless,
just make sure you do something. Not only will it make the people your helping
feel warm on the inside, you will feel like your best self. And, that’s a feeling that can’t be bought.
4)Get Crafty!
More than
anything, Christmastime fuels my creativity! There’s just something about the
holiday season that inspires me. For instance, this epic glitter reindeer
screams Christmas. I absolutely love it, and it makes a perfect decorative
piece for any home. Pinterest is perfect place to browse for creative ideas. I
must warn you, Pinterest is addicting. It’s the sole reason for my
procrastination.
5) Gingerbread House Decorating Party
This year, get
creative! Don’t take the easy route of buying the “Do It Yourself” kit. Actually go to the store, and get all the
items necessary and make a party out of it! People get SERIOUS about their
gingerbread houses. They mean business. Invite a couple of friends over and
have like 5 or 6 stations set up with decorations in festive bowls, and make tons
of icing available.
And finally, treat yourself to a movie on Christmas Day. What
movie you ask? None another than the most-anticipated musical phenomenon this
Holiday season, Les Miserables.
This is the best Christmas present, ever.
Happy Holidays to all, and a Happy New Year!
I'm planning to decorate a gingerbread house with my husband (his first time ever doing it) this weekend. Should be fun...
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of fun! I like buying my own supplies and using graham crackers! It actually tastes good compared to a kit :)
