Throwback Thursday-DIY J.Crew Sweater
I would like to do a little throwback Thursday on the blog today. Back to a DIY sweater I made last year.
It was a sweater that was on my Christmas wish list and I ended up making it myself!
4. Open the sweater and finish tracing the heart.
It was a sweater that was on my Christmas wish list and I ended up making it myself!
It's from J. Crew and I just think it is adorable! It is quite pricey for my wallet, but a girl can only hope. Then came the idea, I can possibly make my own. So that's what I did. I made my own "J. Crew" sweater!
Here's how to make it!
You will need:
A sweatshirt
Mod Podge
Glitter
Paint Brush of some sort
Thick paper
Pencil
1. Trace and cut half of a heart onto a magazine cover. It works better if the paper is thicker than notebook paper. Sorry Emma Watson.
2. Fold the sweatshirt in half and line up the heart on sweatshirt.
3. Trace the half with a pencil.
4. Open the sweater and finish tracing the heart.
5. With the mod podge and glitter you can make however much you want, but just do half and half. If it seemed too thick to me, I just added some more mod podge.
6. Start filling in the lines!
7. I did one coat and then let it dry. Once it was mostly dry I added another coat. Let it dry over night and voila! You have yourself a J. Crew heart sweater look-a-like!
Of course I paired it with my favorite boots and knee socks!
And there you have it!
A cute new sweater!

Wednesday Wanting
Just a simple, neutral outfit. Perfect for a hot Summer day. I'm hating pants. All I want to do is wear skirts, which I have stated before. There are so much more comfortable and so much easier! So this is my outfit of the week that I want!

White Button-Down
Going out one night and don't really want to get too dressed up?? Well how about a white collared shirt and some burmuda shorts? In the Huffington Post they did an article about Summer staples and white shirts was one of them...They ask: "What's the one item you can wear to brunch, work, the beach and a party?" The answer: "A classic white button-down". It's true. I've been seeing other bloggers talk about white and how it's a must-have for the Summer. I am a firm believer in no white after Labor Day until Memorial Day. Well for shoes that is, you won't catch me in white sandals during that time. But that's just me. Who even made up that rule??
Anyways add some pop of color and you're good to go. Thanks for the necklace Forever 21. I'm in love!
PS-This is our last night in our apartment. The move is officially almost done. Time for bigger and better things!

Vacation Part III-Yellowstone
This part of our vacation was probably my favorite part! We went to Yellowstone National Park and I had never been there before. It was just gorgeous. Saw so many animals and I don't think I've been that scared of an animal before. Seriously though...we were on the path and this huge buffalo was within 3 yards of us. The rest of the family took it like champs. Me on the other hand was quite frightened of what this fellow was thinking in his head. No worries though, we made it out safe and sound. Except for the smell of the stink pots. Seems like I'm complaining. Not at all. It was all good fun.
In vacation part II I showed how we had an Avengers themed party for Lizzy. Well really the whole weekend was Avengers themed. Our homemade t-shirts were proof of that :)

"Camping"
It's the weekend again! What to do this weekend? Oh yes I know! PACK! As I mentioned yesterday, we still have a long ways to go. Not saying I will be packing every single moment this weekend because that's just miserable to me. I think we will be going camping without the camping again. We did this about a month ago. Besides the fact we got kicked out because there's no "picnicking" on weekends. Umm what?! What kind of rule is that? She made us pay the overnight camping fee. Lame. Then she let us finish our food and be on our way. Safe to say we will not be returning there.

Trying to get the fire started
I'm hungry and the fire is NOT starting
Moments pass and yay the fire started!
Yum!
Enjoy this weekend!

MOVE
Good grief. I hate getting behind in posts. This past week the days have been going by so fast. Why?! Because we are moving!! Next Wednesday to be exact and I cannot wait. Our apartment looks like it did when we first moved in. It's a maze of boxes and everything that was on the walls. There's one path that leads from the front door to the bedroom. Living like this gives me anxiety so I'm ready to be done.
We are staying in the same area, but getting something bigger AND it has a washer and a dryer. I cannot tell you how excited I am for that. That is definitely one thing I took for granted. Moving is like a fresh start. I can pack everything up and then while unpacking I can get rid of things that have no purpose. You know the things you thought you would use again, but it never saw the daylight since the day it was bought.
So that's why there has been a lull in posts. Packing and more packing. I also had my allergies turn into a sinus infection which has not helped the situation. Wish us luck!
PS-This past weekend we went down to Gateway Mall to watch Dallin's brother jump.
He is pretty amazing.
and we looked at some cool sidewalk chalk drawings...
EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE!
